On the shape, despite the attempts at innovation, the one that seems to me the best is the bell shape. It allows a good introduction while having a sufficiently wide end to seal at the exit of the auditory canal. Good sealing has a double advantage: maintaining and improving the anti-noise effect.

For the material and the flexibility, they are essential, for the comfort and the good hold throughout your night, of your earplugs.

The tests

I tested a whole series of caps with different shapes (see photo above). Either they are too flexible and do not hold. Either they are too hard and they cause discomfort during the night.

Others have a conical shape with rings. I did not find them effective, they isolate noise less.

Conclusion

Finally, the Honeywell 3301161 caps fulfill the expected function perfectly. They are comfortable, offer very good support. And above all they allow, in my opinion, the best noise protection. The quality is also there, you can use them several nights in a row, clean them, without losing their properties.
